Our book clubs run as a block of three meetings at a time.

Details 

The price of the membership is $150 for the three months and will include a copy of each of the books that we will be reading for the three month block (3 new release titles) and three in-store meet ups with wine, tea or coffee.

Members meet once a month at our Hampton Street store to discuss the book. A Ulysses Bookstore staff member facilitates the meeting. The meetings will start at 7pm and run for approximately an hour-and-a-half of conversation.  We have two groups for book club one of which will meet on a Thursday evening and the other on a Tuesday evening on different weeks.

Please note that book club memberships are not refundable or able to be exchanged. You will still get the books for the three month period even if you are not able to or decide not to attend a meeting.

Existing book club members will get first preference to re-book for the next three months, however if you decide not to re-book we cannot hold your spot for you and it will be offered to our waiting list. If you wish to hold your spot you will need to re-book even if you are going to miss some meetings (just treat it as a book subscription for the month(s) you are away!). Space permitting, there will be the ability to attend the other book group's meeting if it suits.

For our Spring/Summer session we will be meeting in October 2024, November 2024 and January 2025.  For the dates, see the respective booking items.

The books for this session are:

October 2024:   "The Desert Knows Her Name" by Lia Hills,

November 2024: "Intermezzo" by Sally Rooney,

January 2025: "There are Rivers in the Sky" by Elif Shafak 

You will be able to collect your October book at the September meeting if you are already a member or alternatively from the store if you are not. Book clubbers will receive their 2nd book at the October meeting and the 3rd book at the November meeting.
